Scholarship
The Ohio State University Alumni Club of New Mexico has established a fund honoring James R. Miller.
Jim Miller was born in 1914 in Shelby, Ohio (1914-2001). A member of Beta Theta Pi, he majored in business and played football at Ohio State. He graduated in 1938. From 1934 to 1937, the Buckeyes held Michigan scoreless. Jim scored two touchdowns against the school up north in 1937.
The Ohio State Alumni Club of New Mexico is dedicating itself to the James R. Miller Scholarship. We feel that Jim exemplifies leadership, athleticism and school spirit.
“The things I learned at Ohio State have helped me throughout my life, and I’d like this scholarship to enable others to receive that experience,” said Jim.
The James R. Miller scholarship will be presented annually to an undergraduate or graduate student(s) enrolled at Ohio State from the state of New Mexico.
